TEAMS takes part in the European project SHERLOC.

The Andalusian company TEAMS, (Testing and Engineering of Aeronautical Materials and Structures), takes part in the European project SHERLOC: " Structural HEalth Monitoring, Manufacturing and Repair Technologies for Life Management Of Composite Fuselage ", led by Imperial College of London (ICL) and with a wide and experienced consortium formed of different European partners, among them, private entities as the Greek, Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI); technological centers like the Foundation for the Investigation, Development and Application of Composite Materials (FIDAMC) or Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC); and universities as the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Sheffield's University (US) or the Brussels Vrije Universiteit (VUB).


The overall objective of SHERLOC project is to combine advanced Structural Health Monitoring and smart repair technologies with a probabilistic design philosophy, and hence to develop new maintenance concepts to reduce the direct operative costs without lowering the operational safety of a compositefuselage, all this applied to the structure of aircraft destined for commercial flights. Besides reducing the repair time of the planes fuselages, SHERLOC affects positively the environment provided that this type of processes use a big quantity of toxic products that will be considerably limited.
This last objective is one of the principal aims of the European program Clean Sky 2, under who’s financing is SHERLOC project, which began at the end of 2015 and it has his ending foreseen in the middle of 2022.

With the participation in this project, TEAMS is consolidated as a model test house internationally as a laboratory dedicated to aeronautical materials and structures testing. For TEAMS, new technologies development has always been a fundamental aspect that allows owning the most outstanding and relevant elements and devices for testing purposes. For that reason, the only effective route that TEAMS understands progress is through  research and development.
Precedents of the company are found in the Group of Elasticity and Strength of Materials of the Engineering School of University of Seville.



Constituted as spin-off in 2006, TEAMS already possesses more than 60 employees.Its human staff is the fundamental key of the company success, a perfect combination between youth and experience that allows facing big challenges with the confidence of being capable of delivering on time the proposed results.
